Chairman Message

It gives me immense pleasure to present the performance of Himachal Pradesh Gramin Bank for the financial year ended 31st March 2026. The Bank has continued its journey of sustainable growth by achieving encouraging business performance, strengthening its financial position, maintaining sound asset quality and expanding its outreach through Government-sponsored schemes, social security initiatives and digital banking services.

During the year, the Bank’s Total Business reached Rs. 14,987.54 crore, comprising Deposits of Rs. 10,053.46 crore and Advances of Rs. 4,934.08 crore. The Bank maintained a Credit-Deposit Ratio of 49.08% while ensuring adequate liquidity to support future business growth.

The Bank’s financial position remained strong with a Net Worth of Rs. 180.50 crore and Reserves of Rs. 165.06 crore. The CASA Ratio of 33.64% reflects our continued focus on mobilising low-cost deposits. Priority Sector Lending remained our key focus, with Priority Sector Advances reaching Rs. 4,133.75 crore (83.78% of total advances) and Agriculture Advances at Rs. 2,072.17 crore (42.00% of total advances), reaffirming our commitment towards inclusive rural development.

The Bank achieved a significant improvement in its financial performance with an Operating Profit of Rs. 61.86 crore. Asset quality remained one of the Bank’s key strengths, with Gross NPA at 2.55%, Net NPA at 0.33%, and an improved Provision Coverage Ratio (PCR) of 87.37%, reflecting effective credit monitoring, recovery efforts and prudent risk management.

The Bank continued to play a pivotal role in implementing various Government Sponsored Schemes, including DAY-NRLM (Aajeevika), Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), PM Surya Ghar Yojana, PM Vishwakarma, Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) Scheme and PMAY 2.0, thereby supporting entrepreneurship, employment generation, rural livelihoods, agricultural infrastructure, renewable energy adoption and affordable housing across the State.

The Bank has also maintained a leading position in Himachal Pradesh in implementing the Government’s flagship Social Security Schemes (SSS). As on 31st March 2026, the Bank had enrolled 6.91 lakh beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), 2.51 lakh beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), 1.52 lakh subscribers under Atal Pension Yojana (APY) and maintained 6.85 lakh Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) accounts. The Bank has also emerged as one of the leading banks in the State in the settlement of insurance claims under PMSBY and PMJJBY, as well as RuPay Debit Card accidental insurance claims, ensuring timely financial assistance to beneficiaries and their families. These achievements reflect our unwavering commitment towards financial inclusion, customer welfare and effective implementation of the Government’s social security initiatives.

The Bank has continued to strengthen its digital banking ecosystem by offering customers a comprehensive range of technology-driven banking services, including RuPay Debit Cards, Credit Cards, RuPay Kisan Cards (KCC Cards), UPI-enabled payment facilities, Mobile Banking, Internet Banking and other digital payment solutions, thereby providing secure, convenient and seamless banking services while promoting a digital and less-cash economy.

The Bank remains fully committed to complying with the regulatory guidelines and policy directions issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and NABARD, while continuously strengthening governance standards, risk management practices and customer service.

While celebrating these achievements, we remain committed to further improving CASA mobilisation, enhancing non-interest income, strengthening recovery, increasing business productivity and achieving the milestones envisaged under the Bank’s Viability Plan. I am confident that with the continued support of all stakeholders and the dedication of our employees, Himachal Pradesh Gramin Bank will continue to achieve sustainable growth and create greater value for our customers and society.
